tvN's "The K2" lead stars Ji Chang Wook and YoonA revealed in separate post-show interviews how they developed a close relationship while filming their drama.
Soompi learned that the ending scene in "The K2 was one of the first shots both actors took for the drama. According to Ji Chang Wook, he barely knew her co-star YoonA when they did their first scene which involved kissing.
"To be honest, the final kiss scene shown in the drama was actually the first thing we filmed when we were filming overseas. We were notified about the kiss scene after we arrived at the Barcelona airport. A clear script hadn't been released, and the writer only gave us the situation," he said.
In contrast, YoonA shared how she was anxious with their first kissing scene together in a sit-down interview with Yonhap News, All Kpop reported.
"We had to film a kiss scene between two lovers that we could use for the drama ending, but I had known Ji Chang Wook not even a week. I was worried that I would be awkward, but everyone said that it looked good, so I felt relieved," she confessed.
Their first kissing scene together prompted both actors to immediately develop a relationship between them.
YoonA shared that "The K2" director also requested for them to get to know each other to establish a connection. This, of course, led to them exchanging contact information and sharing of interests.
Ji Chang Wook added that he and YoonA talked about various topics such as their hobbies, past works and even, philosophies in life.
He also revealed how he first knew YoonA as a member of South Korean group Girls' Generation and explained the prejudice among idol-turned-actors which he tried to avoid while working with his co-star.
Soompi learned that to avoid such misconception, Ji Chang Wook viewed YoonA in a "different lens" by recognizing the latter as his partner and not as a Girls' Generation member.
This, of course, proved to have worked with both actors with their drama "The K2" being well-received by fans.
