Gwen Stefani had a challenging time dealing with the aftermath of her divorce from Gwen Rossdale. However, meeting Blake Shelton and forming a relationship with "The Voice" coach helped her to recover from the ordeal, according to the singer-songwriter.

Stefani weathered through one of the lowest points in her life with the support of her loved ones, family and friends. Following her separation from Rossdale, the "No Doubt" singer felt saddened that her 13-year marriage failed. However, she credited Shelton for helping her recover from the heartbreak.

The "Used to Love You" crooner even thanked "The Voice" coach during Glamour magazine's recent Woman of the Year event. Honored as one of the publication's inspirational women of the year, Stefani's acceptance speech included the singer's confession of how she felt "so low" after her divorce, Taste of Country quoted the musician as saying.

However, the person who helped Stefani out of her lowest spot was Shelton. She stated, "To Blake Shelton for kissing me back to life, thank you so much."

Stefani also made a similar statement in an earlier interview with Glamour where she gushed over her boyfriend. "The Voice" coach served as her close friend during a time when she needed someone to lean on.

With Shelton dealing with his own divorce from Miranda Lambert at the same time as Stefani's break-up with Rossdale, the two musicians' shared experience served as an inspiration to the "Hollaback Girl" crooner. The singer shared, "That was an inspiration ... An unexpected gift. And that became an inspiration in the songwriting."

Creating new music also served as an effective outlet for the singer to release some of her frustrations and feelings. Clocking in many hours at the music studio to finish the album "This is What the Truth Feels Like" even helped her to recover from the divorce, according to Stefani.
