The cast members of the sci-fi blockbuster include 2012 ALMA Award winner Zoe Saldana as Neytiri, 2010 Saturn Awards Best Actor Sam Worthingtin as Jake Sully, 2013 Primetime Emmy nominee Sigourney Weaver as Grace, and 2010 Saturn Award Best Supporting Actor Stephen Lang as Miles Quaritch.

Actor Sam Worthington will return with his role as the main character in the film. He also had previous appearances and roles in movies "Clash of the Titans", "Man on a Ledge", and "Sabotage".

Many fans were confused when Sigourney Weaver announced that she would be part of the film's second installment, as also revealed in Cinema Blend. Such confusion arose since it was clear that her character Dr. Grace Augustine reached death at the end of the film. However, the actress confirmed that she will not be playing the same character.

"Avatar 2" follows the lead characters Jake and Neytiri in their journey. They will unveil the other moons of Polyphemus. Underwater shots are also one of the things to expect in the upcoming film.

James Cameron is set to pilot and produce the forthcoming "Avatar 2", along with Jon Landau as co-producer and Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Josh Friedman as co-writers.

The director gave a hint on what to expect to the movie, as per Kpopstarz. "It's going to be a lot of new imagery and a lot of new environments and creatures across Pandora," Cameron said. "We're blowing it out all over the place. At first I thought I was going to take it onto other worlds as well, in the same solar system, but it turned out not to be necessary," he continued.

The highly anticipated "Avatar 2" is set to premiere in theaters and cinemas in December 2016 under 20th Century Fox.
