"The Originals" Season 4 will see Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) getting into a relationship, but this will not come very easy for them.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Julie Plec said that there will not be any male characters that will be paired with Hayley. After all, she will be working hard to help Elijah reunite with his siblings, particularly with Klaus (Joseph Morgan).
Plec added that it is only after Elijah gets reunited with them that he could focus on pursuing Hayley again. This means that if Hayley will not be able to do her task successfully, her possible reunion with Elijah could go down the drain.
"When we come back, obviously all of our heroes are still down. In fact, it's Hayley's role to figure out a way to deliver on her promise to rescue them. So when that day does come, and Elijah does return to the fold, he is thrown back into a relationship that he has been absent from, a brother that has been captive and had God knows what done to him over the last half a decade, and a crumbling Mikaelson dynasty in New Orleans that he feels very compelled to rebuild," she said.
Meanwhile, Elijah has been away from his brothers for the past five years, and this storyline will be made even stronger by the time-jump in the premiere episode in Season 4. This also means that Hayley and Elijah have not seen each other for quite some time. However, their connection will remain strong.
In other news, while Elijah is still away, Hayley will try to build a strong relationship with Klaus, the father of her daughter, Hope. In an interview with Yahoo TV, showrunner Michael Narducci said that Hope will be seven years old when "The Originals" Season 4 premieres. This means that she is growing up and looking for guidance from both of her parents.
Additionally, a villainous character will also try to torment Hope so Hayley and Klaus need to become stronger for their offspring.
"The Originals" Season 4 will premiere on The CW on March 17 at 9 p.m. EST.
