LG is boasting their new tech that will protect G6 users from possible battery explosions. The new Android smartphone will certainly take advantage of the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.

The LG G6 will be the next flagship smartphone from the South Korean tech company. Their previous G5 smartphone was not received well because of the modular gimmick wherein users can buy expensive modules to add to the device.

It seems that LG has learned from its mistake and is building the G6 without any modular features. There are claims that the smartphone may even include water resistance even with a removable battery.

LG Electronics mobile communications global operations head Lee Suk-jong told Korea Times that they are raising the level of safety for the G6 smartphone. The company did not explicitly cite the Galaxy Note 7 incident but they did emphasize safety and quality standards for the handset.

One way of ensuring that there will be no battery overheating problems is to improve the device's emission of the radiation. The LG G6 will have copper heat pipes similar to those used in desktop and laptop computers. This allows the smartphone to reduce the amount of heat by up to 10 percent.

Also, LG G6 customers will be glad to know that it will have 15 percent higher battery standards thanks to anti-shock and anti-puncture tests beforehand, ZDNet reported. The company will also test the smartphone's fingerprint sensor, camera, display and even the processor itself to see whether it can survive extreme temperatures both in hot and cold settings.

At the moment, LG G6 specs are still vague but they are expected to be revealed at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017. The smartphone will also reportedly be released before the Galaxy S8 due to possible plans of capitalizing over the Galaxy Note 7 debacle.
