"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 introduced several plot twists that changed the lives of beloved characters. However, a new male doctor will soon further complicate the relationships of Grey Sloan hospital physicians, including Alex (Justin Chambers) and Jo (Camilla Luddington).
The latest episode of the ABC medical drama featured the resolution of Alex's legal case and several story developments that included Meredith's (Ellen Pompeo) suspension, as well as a touching hug scene between Alex and Jo. Aired on Feb. 9, Thursday, "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 episode 12 also paved the way for the said couple to potentially continue their romance.
Despite the many complications that included Jo's true identity and abusive past, it appears that the two characters might get the chance to rebuild their relationship and start anew. However, a person from Jo's past might wreak havoc on the couple's tenuous relationship.
Latest casting news teased of a new male character to be added to the series who might be Jo's abusive husband. Sources told TVLine that the ABC medical drama's production team have released a casting call for a male actor to play a new doctor.
Described as a charming and appealing physician, the said new character also has a "scary dark side" and can be very manipulative. Moreover, the new male doctor is expected to appear towards the latter part of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 and might even recur in the upcoming Season 14.
In other news, Chambers recently shared his thoughts about Alex and Jo's emotional hug scene. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he revealed that he found the said moment poetic given how the two characters simply embraced each other without saying a word.
The actor also declined to give details about Alex and Jo's relationship but highlighted how the two characters still have feelings for each other. He teased, "Where do we go from here ... Anything is possible on this show, so you just have to stay tuned."
