"The Walking Dead" Season 7B will have more fast-paced storylines to make the installments more exciting for fans. But it seems that it could be the last for the once hit AMC TV series.

While speaking with TV Guide, executive producer Greg Nicotero acknowledged the fact that "The Walking Dead" Season 7 is doing well, but its ratings are not as high as in the previous seasons.

But even if this is the case, he and his team are not approaching the series differently. In fact, Nicotero explained that they look at the ratings based on who watches the show long term as opposed to who watches "The Walking Dead" at night.

He added that some fans watch the show three or five days after it airs on AMC, and this also means viewership for the series even if it does not happen on the actual air date.

Meanwhile, the exec also opened up about Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the rest of his people from Alexandria. According to him, Season 7A ended with Rick reuniting with his team, but even if they are stronger than ever, this does not mean that they will have a peaceful life and relationship with each other.

Nicotero added that the second half of Season 7 will have a different pace and feel to it unlike Season 6 and the first half of the current season. This suggests that there might not be any major character deaths in the new installments.

In other news, Nicotero also revealed which episode from Season 7B is his favorite. According to him, big things are in store for the characters in episode 9. Carl (Chandler Riggs), Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus).

On top of this, the exec is also very proud of the Season 7 finale. After they finished filming the episode, he and his team were surprised at how they managed to make it as exciting as it is.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on AMC.
