Avid viewers of "Supernatural" Season 12 may soon see a different kind of Castiel (Misha Collins) in upcoming episodes. Latest spoiler news teased of a potential change in the said warrior angel's persona brought about by a yet to be born Nephilim.

"Supernatural" Season 12 is set to explore an interesting storyline about angels, devils and babies born from a union of a powerful god-like creature and a mortal. Featured in the midseason finale of the CW show's current season, the beginning of the said storyline was introduced with Kelly (Courtney Ford) pregnant with Lucifer's baby.

Kelly may have disappeared but Castiel, along with Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles), will soon embark on a quest to find her and the devil's unborn baby. However, the hunt will change Castiel, according to Collins.

The actor shared in an earlier interview with TVLine that Castiel will face some dramatic challenges towards the latter part of "Supernatural" Season 12. He even teased that viewers might soon see a different version of the said character.

Collins stated, "The pursuit of Kelly and her spawn turns into a transformative experience for Castiel, and that is meant with every possible type of entendre. We're going to see a new iteration of Cas coming up."

The actor did not elaborate whether the transformation will change Castiel's powers or his behavior. However, viewers have already begun to see more traces of ruthlessness, as well as selflessness, in the said angel especially if the said behaviors will keep the Winchesters alive.

Meanwhile, showrunner Andrew Dabb told Entertainment Weekly that the upcoming "Supernatural" Season 12 episode 12 will introduce a long-lost Lucifer mythology. The Winchester brothers and their friends might even see some of the devil's influence resurfacing in the said episode.
