Avid viewers of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 witnessed the different factions that formed following Eliza's (Marika Dominczyk) introduction to Grey Sloan Hospital as the new residency program chief. Despite beloved characters staging a mini-rebellion that included working around Eliza's orders, the said new director might soon find an ally in Arizona (Jessica Capshaw).
Eliza addition to Grey Sloan Hospital and her attempts to jumpstart a new residency program was met with resistance with several doctors banding together to show their animosity towards the said character. Given that she took over Richard's (James Pickens Jr.) role and essentially had Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) suspended, the new residency chief has had a tough time gaining the trust of her colleagues.
However, Eliza will soon find a new supporter in upcoming "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 episodes. Apart from Bailey (Chandra Wilson), Dominczyk told Entertainment Weekly that her character will slowly have a new ally and even hinted of a partnership with Arizona although the alliance will be unstable.
The actress stated, "It goes a little bit back and forth. Arizona has been in her corner sort of, kind of ... It's been slow trying to get people on her side."
Dominczyk also mentioned that Eliza might not be able to convince many Grey Sloan Hospital doctors to support her and her new residency program. Highlighting the shared history that beloved characters have in the ABC medical series, it will be difficult to break through that strong bond especially if two of their colleagues were affected by Eliza's presence.
The Polish American star even commented on Eliza's attraction for Arizona and how her character has been hopeful that something romantic might develop between the two doctors. She also made a similar comment in an interview with TVLine but added that Eliza will put her work first and is not the type to mix business with pleasure.
Meanwhile, Dominczyk teased that the upcoming "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 episode 13 will serve as an important chapter in Eliza's arc. Described as the "biggest episode" for the said character, the said doctor will showcase her skills as she implements the next phase of her residency program.
