Avid viewers of ABC's long-running medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 will witness the aftermath of Bailey's (Chandra Wilson) decision to promote April (Sarah Drew) following Meredith's (Ellen Pompeo) suspension. Latest spoiler news teased of the rising tension between beloved characters and a faction forming against the newly appointed general surgery chief.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 episode 12 featured several shocking story developments that included DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) dropping all charges against Alex (Justin Chambers), as well as a tense encounter between Bailey and Meredith that led to the latter's immediate suspension. Aired on Feb. 2, it also featured a surprising twist that threatened Meredith's career at Grey Sloan hospital given April's promotion.

In the upcoming "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 episode 13, April will experience the backlash of Bailey's decision. Titled "It Only Gets Much Worse," the new chief of general surgery will have a challenging day given her colleagues' animosity, according to episode spoilers posted on Spoilers Guide.

April's authority as Meredith's replacement will be questioned in the upcoming episode. Moreover, some of the Grey Sloan patients will continue to look for the suspended Meredith, a fact that will further irritate April.

Meanwhile, with Eliza's (Marika Dominczyk) teaching program at full swing, residents will be excited with the learning opportunities that the said residency director prepared. However, they will be caught in the middle of a revolt as doctors express their disappointment over Meredith's suspension and April's subsequent promotion.

In other news, ABC recently greenlighted the medical series' Season 14 run. In a statement released Feb. 10, Friday, as obtained by Entertainment Weekly, ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey announced the medical series' extension including new seasons for "Scandal" and "How to Get Away with Murder."

The ABC executive even commented on how the three dramas continue to delight viewers with its storyline and interesting characters. Dungey added, "I'm thrilled to bring back these shows and the OMG moments that come with them."
