"Our partnership will benefit our existing rights holders and distributors as well as forging new ground in China, a priority territory for any content producer or distributor," Distrify media CEO Andy Green enthused.

"The deal will also allow us to showcase Chinese content around the world and finding new audiences. In addition, the appointment of our new chairman David McIntosh demonstrates the ambition of Distrify Media to become the world leader of video monetization online," Andy added.

On the new Chinese VOD platform, the Scottish firm's current catalog of titles will also be available, reaching millions of new viewers. The content is currently available in more than 160 countires.

The VOD agreement was facilitated by the U.K. Trade and Investment, a British government department working with British businesses who wish to grow in international markets.

Distrify Media announced through a statement that the deal received a $1-million investment led by the global venture syndicate, ESM Investments.

According to Xiong Zhihui, Future TV CEO, the deal is a "partnership of giants."

"Distrify Media is a world-renowned video platform with substantial operational experience. Its advanced video player technology and data measurement system has helped it to successfully launch into many countries worldwide," Xiong remarked.

Distrify Media has already worked with other U.K.-based film and social media enterprises.
