While Christopher McQuarrie's "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" has not yet hit the big screen, lead actor Tom Cruise has revealed another sequel to the film franchise that he has loved.
Cruise is playing the role of Ethan Hunt in McQuarrie's upcoming film. In his interview with Jon Stewart of "The Daily Show," Cruise told the host that they were beginning to work on the said project and filming would commence next summer. However, he did not give information on what fans could expect from the next sequel of the action franchise.
Stewart also asked Cruise on the number of hours he spent at the gym. The actor said that he spent months of training for extreme action sequences and the stunts that he exhibit in all his "Mission: Impossible" films.
The actor also mentioned that his character is highly in danger in the film, even more vulnerable that his character in "Edge of Tomorrow."
"Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" follows agent Hunt, along with his team, as they face the anti-IMF group called The Syndicate. The film will show Cruise do the most thrilling and dangerous stunt in a new mission, which to dangle from the side of an air plane while it is taking off.
In his recent interview with Cinema Blend, Cruise also revealed that he chooses to be part of "Mission: Impossible" franchises because of Hunt's persona in the big screen, along with the film's sequence structures, which cannot be found in other action films.
Along with big names like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, Cruise has become one of the famous icons in the action film industry due to his character focus, thrilling elements, and special effects, combined, according to Forbes.
Aside from Cruise, the film also stars Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin, Ving Rhames, and Sean Harris, among others.
McQuarrie's "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on July 31 while the release date of the "Mission: Impossible" follow-up film is yet to be announced. Watch Cruise's interview with Stewart here:
