It seems like the much awaited “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 12, will not only be about Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) trying to move on in her life, following Derek Shepherd’s (Patrick Dempsey) death, but also some classic Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) behavior.
The last season saw Bailey’s esteem being shaken up due to the battle with OCD and the infection outbreak amongst her patients. This is more likely change in the upcoming season as the Wilson teases that fans will get to see Bailey’s self-confidence, as she wants to be the chief.
“I want to be chief. That’s what I want. What do I have to do to make that happen? You’re going to see some classic Bailey stuff, some classic Bailey behavior,” Wilson told Zap2it. “[You’ll see] some self-confidence that you haven’t seen in a while from her coming out. This is a really important step for her, just as important as getting on the board. I think being the chief is kind of the pinnacle of her career.”
While this confirms Bailey will be back in action in the next season, Meredith and Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) are excited about “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 12. Meredith is rumored to have a new love interest - Martin Henderson, who will join the cast as a new medic. There is no other information about the new character played by Henderson as of now.
Rumor has it that Henderson is being lined up as the fans beloved McDreamy replacement. However, April Kepner (Sarah Drew) told the Digital Spy that “No one can replace McDreamy! I don’t know what he’s gonna do to come and spice the show up, but I’m sure he’s gonna throw a wrench into everything going on - in a great way!”
April teased that “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 12 will be all about hope and that the fans have got a taste of what the season will be at the end of season 11 finale. She added that McDreamy’s departure leaves a hole not just in Meredith’s heart, but also the hearts of every fan.
As for the other cast members, the season will have Dr Ben Warren (Jason George) return while Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) is also rumored to join the cast.
