iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus release may not happen on Sept. 9 as rumors that the production of the smartphones will start later this month. This means that Apple is running late with its schedule that may slightly affect the official launch of the devices.

It was initially reported that iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus release will take place in September, although the official launch has not been announced yet.

According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is a credible Apple tipster, the new iPhone may miss the purported release on Sept. 9. Chinese publication UDN reported that Apple encountered a bump while working on the new iPhones. Apple instructed to ramp down the production of the current iPhones to make way for the upcoming smartphones.

Moreover, the production of iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will start in late August. The analyst also added that Foxconn will take care of the 60 percent of the total iPhone 6S units and 100 percent of iPhone 6S Plus units. The remaining 40 percent of iPhone 6S will be taken care of Pegatron.

Some of the purported features of the iPhone 6S are A9 processor, 4 GB of RAM, iOS 9 with software features such as Car Play, Apple Watch, HealthKit, and Apple Pay as well as improved Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Moreover, the new iPhone will be available in more color options aside from the current silver, gold and space gray variants. Apple is reportedly mulling over the idea of a pink iPhone to appeal to female users.

However, Apple has not confirmed the official specs and features of the upcoming iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
