The once console-exclusive action role-playing video game "Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen" will finally find its way into the PC platform in January 2016. The game will be released on the PC platform via Steam.
The game's developer and publisher, Capcom, made the announcement on its official website posting, "As of January 2016, the epic fantasy action-RPG Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen will be available on Windows PC for $29.99, with full Steam platform support."
According to Engadget, the PC version of the game will feature an optimized keyboard and mouse control setting. Capcom also announced that the PC version will support Xbox One and Xbox 360 controllers.
"Dragon's Dogma" was first released in 2012 and was a console exclusive for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. When the game was released, it features an open-world setting combining a hack-and-slash gameplay as well as survival horror them.
The hack-and-slash gameplay of "Dragon's Dogma" instantly reminded gamers of "Devil May Cry" while the introduction of large bosses is reminiscent of "Shadow of the Colossus."
Many experts agree that the biggest innovation of the game is the introduction of the Pawn system. This system allows gamers to hire three party members in order to aid them in finishing their quests. These pawns are controlled by artificial intelligence but players have the ability to control them by issuing commands such as Go, Come or Help.
While the first "Dragon's Dogma" game was released in 2012, the "Dark Arisen" expansion was released in 2013. Prior to the recent announcement, Capcom released "Dragon's Dogma Online" exclusively in Japan on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC platform.
