Fox is set to premier "Empire" season 2 on Sept. 23 in which a bee of celebrities, are going to join the cast as guest stars, apparently making this season even bigger and better.

The latest celebrity reported to join the cast is "Kill Bill" star Vivica A. Fox, who will be seen playing the role of the eldest sister of Cookie (Taraji P. Henson). Fox will appear in episode 8 of the upcoming season as the troublesome sister who has come in search of Cookie for reasons yet unknown.

Another new actress to join the cast is Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei. She will be guest starring as wealthy fashion-conscious lesbian, Mimi Whitman, who thinks "it would be really fun to own a movie company or to own a music company," show runner Ilene Chaiken told TV Line.

"Magic Mike" actor Adam Rodriguez will be introduced as Cookie's new love interest, Laz Delgado, an ex-cop turned concert promoter who is suffering from PTSD owing to his experience as first responder during 9/11.

Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, Ludacris, Al Sharpton, Andre Leon Talley, and Ne-Yo are also likely to guest star in the upcoming season, Yahoo News reported. Mariah Carey and Oprah Winfrey were also rumored to join in, though, the speculation is still unconfirmed.

"Empire" season 2 will see family members pitted against each other to get hold of the record label with Cookie, Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray), Andre (Trai Byers) and Anika (Grace Gealey) continuing their attempts while Jamal (Jussie Smollett) is trying to tighten the grip over the company, co-founded by Lucious (Terrence Howard), who in turn is in jail for murder.
