When the Philippines' Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, 26, finally took the stage as the rightful owner of the Miss Universe 2015 crown, Miss Myanmar May Thaw, 25, was one of those who showed support for her. Wurtzbach appreciates Thaw's support so much that she gave her a special gift.

On Dec. 23, Wednesday, Wurtzbach posted a photo of herself with Thaw via the official Facebook page of Miss Universe with a caption, "My roommate and friend, May Thaw, Miss Myanmar came by my room before she left to say goodbye."

"I gave her my last pearl earrings to keep and remember me by," Wurtzbach continued. "I'm so thankful to have met so many amazing woman during this journey!#MissUniverse -Pia."

Thaw was one of those few Miss Universe 2015 candidates who approached Wurtzbach to congratulate her. The others, mostly the Latina candidates, chose to console Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez, who had just enjoyed wearing the Miss Universe 2015 crown for a few minutes before it was taken away from her because Steve Harvey read the cue cards wrong.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Wurtzbach revealed that she also tried to approach Gutierrez and console her but to no avail. She told the publication, "I was actually very close to her already, but I decided that maybe it was bad timing to do it now to apologize to her for what happened. So maybe I'll do that in the future."

Despite all the chaos and controversy, Miss Universe 2015 judge Perez Hilton said Harvey should return as the host in 2016. He told Us Weekly that he should also be brought back as a special backstage correspondent with Harvey as the host.
