Kung fu superstar Jackie Chan appears in public for the first time since his son's conviction during a press conference conducted for the promotion of his latest film, "Dragon Blade."

On Wednesday, Chan and director Daniel Lee met with members of the press to discuss and promote the historic epic "Dragon Blade," which also stars Hollywood actors John Cusack and Adrien Brody.

During the conference, the 60-year-old Hong Kong-born celebrity entertained their guests by singing two of the film's theme songs.

However, Chan kept quiet when asked about his son's apparent fate after being entangled in an illegal-drug-abuse case.

Just recently, Chan's 32-year-old son, Jaycee, had received minimum sentence of six months after he pleaded guilty of possession of marijuana, a controlled substance in Beijing.

According to reports, the young Chan was caught in possession of 100 grams of marijuana with Taiwanese movie star Ko Kai on Aug. 14 last year. After examinations were made, both young celebrities have tested positive of the substance.

When his case was heard in Beijing court late last year, Jaycee Chan admitted to the charges against him and was videotaped by CCTV saying: "I violated the law. I deserve to be punished. When I return to society, I won't do it again."

Chan's arrest came amid China's biggest crackdown on drug abuse in two decades, leaving other known personalities in the country, including actor Gao Hu, under the custody of the Beijing law enforcement.

His involvement in the drug abuse came as a particularly sensitive topic for his father who was named an Anti-Drug Ambassador in 2009.

In a past interview, Jackie Chan had expressed his grief for his son's choices and said that after Jaycee's rehabilitation, he hopes that his son would eventually become another anti-drug abuse ambassador just like him.
