During their steamy outdoors, "Flatliners" producer Michael Douglas was also photographed staring at the couple.

Meanwhile, Dobrev plays the role of a medical student from Harvard University.

In an interview with ET Canada in June, Dobrev expressed her excitement over her casting.

"I'm excited. The hadn't seen the original before I auditioned for it and then I did and, I mean, it's such a great movie - Julia Roberts, Keifer Sutherland, Kevin Bacon and it's just so exciting to be part of the reboot," she said.

In other news, after the filming of "Flatliners" officially concludes, Dobrev will head to "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 studio for her upcoming return as Elena Gilbert.

The actress left the series at the end of season 6, and thousands of fans claimed that the show was never the same again.

In an interview with TV Line, executive producer Julie Plec said that she is looking forward to Dobrev's return in the finale.

However, it's possible that the actress will be back for even more episodes especially since Ian Somerhalder's departure will also take place at the end of the series.

By the looks of it, Dobrev's return on "The Vampire Diaries" won't be permanent. After Somerhalder exits as Damon Salvatore, Dobrev's Elena no longer has any reason to still be at Mystic Falls.

It's possible that a new love interest storyline could be given to the actress. However, it won't make sense because Dobrev already left the series and said that she wants to pursue bigger things outside the franchise.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 hasn't commenced filming yet, but there are rumors that the cast members have already read the script for the first episode.

In the said installment, more information about Damon and Enzo's (Michael Malarkey) fate while inside the Armory vault will be revealed.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will premiere on The CW sometime this fall.
