Yadav was guest speaker at the Boao Forum for Asia.

"This was the first official visit of our president to China. In addition to that, this was the first time that Nepal's president held bilateral talks with the Chinese president since Nepal became Republic," Khadka told reporters at a press conference.

"Boao Forum has been established as an important economic forum in Asia. It is a matter of pride for Nepal as Nepal's president attended the conference and addressed such an important forum," the minister added.

Khadka said that President Yadav's visit is timely as this year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, highlighted by various activities, exchanges and high-level visits.

Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on August 1, 1955.

The minister told members of the press that the Nepali government is expecting Chinese officials to visit their country as China and Nepal have agreed to have a series of high-level visits for the year as part of the 60th anniversary.

The Nepali president's visit is part of the exchange of high-level visits between the two countries, the minister added.
